Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-27
Dark Theme for Play Console is a Chrome extension that switches on a dark mode for the Google Play Console. This policy describes what it can access and what it does with it. It is short because the extension does very little.
The extension collects nothing
There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. The extension makes no network requests of its own and sends nothing anywhere.
What it can access, and why
- Play Console pages at
play.google.com/console, and no other site. It adds a class to the page that switches on the console’s own dark colours, and loads a style sheet. To tell which charts are drawn on a white background, it reads the colour of a single pixel of each chart. It never reads, stores or sends the page’s text, your app data or anything you type. - Storage, to remember one setting: whether the dark mode is on or off.
- The toolbar menu, to add two tip links to the icon’s right-click menu. Choosing one opens Buy Me a Coffee or PayPal in a new tab.
The things that happen outside the extension
- Chrome sync. The on or off setting is saved with Chrome’s sync storage. If you sign in to Chrome with sync turned on, Google keeps that one setting with your Google account.
- The Chrome Web Store. Installing and updating the extension is a transaction between your browser and Google, with its own privacy policy.
- A tip, if you choose to leave one. Buy Me a Coffee and PayPal handle the payment under their own privacy policies.
- An email you choose to send. It reaches the support mailbox and is used only to answer you.
Deleting your data
Removing the extension deletes its setting from your browser.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the history of this file is public in the repository.
