Darek
A Polish voice assistant that calls your gate opener when you tell him to. Say “Darek, otwórz bramę”, and he answers out loud and calls the number you gave him. Recognition, speech and the call all happen on your phone: the app has no internet permission, no account and no server.
Darek is still being built, and is not on Google Play yet.
What it does
- Listens only when you turn it on. While Listening is on, a notification says so, and you can stop it there at any time.
- Hears a few fixed Polish Commands, for a gate, a garage or a wicket, and ignores everything else said around the phone. Nothing it hears is recorded.
- Answers before he acts. Darek says what he is about to do, gives you a moment to cancel, and then calls the number you entered for that Command.
What it does not do
Darek calls your gate opener; he does not control the gate. Whether the gate opens is up to the opener, which has to recognise your phone’s number, and the call goes through your own SIM and mobile operator like any call you make.
Your data stays on your phone
The numbers you enter and your settings are kept on your phone. They travel only with Android’s own backup to your own Google account, and with its phone-to-phone transfer to your next phone. Audio is processed on the phone as it is heard and is never stored or sent. The details are in the
